“In the name of Jesus Christ”…
Common words,
Said in pajamas at night
And over peanut butter sandwiches.
I have said those words many times…
And they have been said many times before.
Stephen recalled the words of his savior,
Teaching with love and faith…
He was dragged, beaten and stoned –
Murdered with Christ’s words on his lips.
James, at 94 teaching the words
Of his Master…
Beaten and clubbed by a mob.
He died bloody and broken, but blessed.
